- 23 September 2008: Please note that SARS has issued a warning of a scam run using its name. Fraudsters are claiming SARS cheques have been inadvertently deposited into your account and asking you to refund the amount. This is not from SARS. SARS do EFT payments and would not require you to effect any refund should they have made an error.

- 01 July 2008: SARS has introduced a new submission of tax returns regime. Employers are now required to file their EMP501s in July to 29 August 2008. Individuals will file their income tax returns from September 2008 to 21 November 2008. E-filers have until 23 January 2009 to file their individual returns. Please note that all schools are required to submit to the District Office, copies of the letters sent to parents with regard to their right to apply for school fees exemptions. Copies of these signed letters must be made available to the WCED. We will be sending out a letter in this regard within the next few days
